This is a one of a kind Spiritual Retreat. We are going to the remote location of Nepal. This country is in South Asia, located between India and China. Nepal is the home of Sagarmatha (the Nepalese name for Everest) in the Himalaya Mountains. It is the birthplace of Buddha and has a strong spiritual tradition. It also has wonderful places to hike and explore. We will visit temples and monasteries and study with local shamans. In addition, Maestra Paloma Cervantes is going to provide daily spiritual practice and teach the workshop: Ixbec or “Awakening the power within”. You will learn how to access the Universal Wisdom to awaken past lives and memories that are useful and empowering.
The Plan
- Dates in Nepal: March 23 to April 3, 2019 (12 days – 11 nights)
- Lots of adventures: Studying with local shamans, exploring around with our local guide, visiting local markets for spiritual tools, monasteries, temples, museums, etc.
- Daily spiritual practice with Paloma Cervantes
- Workshops:

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival: Saturday, March 23, 2019
- Arrival in Kathmandu. When booking your airplane ticket make sure that you are arriving on March 23. There is a big time difference. Nepal is 12 hours and 45 minutes ahead of Pacific Standard time
- Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, we will be greeted by a representative of Upper Himalayan Treks and Adventure
- We will have a private jeep to take us to the Shaman’s school, where we are going to stay for several days
- After settling into our room, we have the option to be treated to a Nepali dinner at a five-star restaurant
- We will then have the option to explore the area or be taken back to school
Days 2 to 7: Sunday, March 24 to Friday, 29, 2019
- All meals are provided at the school
- Classes begin. We will receive lessons on Himalayan Shamanism and will have private training from different shamans. We can request a specific shaman, but the shaman must also choose us
- The first day is designed as an introductory course in shamanism. Because we are already advanced, we might be permitted into advanced courses, but we must be evaluated by a shaman who chooses us
- The lessons will steadily progress into learning healing techniques with Mantras and Mandalas
- We will also learn to drum
- The shamans will first give us demonstrations on a healing technique, then will observe and monitor us as we attempt the healing techniques (The physical and spiritual exercises you will be performing are intended to help you navigate through the spirit world dealing with deities and driving away malevolent spirits to promote healing)
- We will learn about different spirits and deities
- Chakras and the 5 elements of the body
- Soul Retrieval
- Identifying a spirit or deity causing an illness
- How to prevent future bad luck by cutting the lines of fate
- We might be asked to spend the night in a graveyard as it is the tradition for Shamans in training.
Days 8 and 9: Saturday, 30 and Sunday 31, March 2019
- Touring Kathmandu. We will visit world heritage sites, shrines, stupas, and monasteries on a Kathmandu sightseeing tour
- Have free time to go shopping for spiritual tools or pursue other interests
Day 10 and 11: Monday 1st, and Tuesday 2nd, April 2019
- We will spend 2 days in a remote location outside Kathmandu
- We will study the workshop: Ixbec or “Awakening the power within” with Curandera Paloma Cervantes
Day 12: Wednesday, April 3, 2019
- Return to home. Depending on the time of our return flight, we may have time to do some last-minute exploring or shopping
- Otherwise, we will be taken to the Kathmandu Airport 2 to 3 hours before our departure
The Cost
It is in US dollars and it is per person. The cost is divided into 3 parts: Traveling package, Paloma’s workshop and other costs (your personal expenses)
- Cost Part #1
- Traveling package: Total cost: $2,500. We will be traveling with Upper Himalayan Treks and Adventure. They are going to provide the following: local transportation by land with a bilingual guide, hotels, meals, tips, tour guides, entrance fees, activities, the airplane from Pokhara to Kathmandu and meals, and 3 full days of teachings with local shamans
- Deposit: $330 by November 5, 2018. Please follow this link to go to the traveling agency to pay your deposit, pay in full or get payment options
- Balance: The balance is due 1 month before departure date, February 23, 2019
- Cancellation policy: A full deposit will be provided up to one month of departure. Cancellations within one month from the departure date will not be granted a refund.
- Cost Part #2
- Workshop “Ixbec or Awakening the power within” with Maestra Paloma Cervantes: Total cost: $350 dollars
- Deposit: $110 dollars by December 2, 2918. Follow this link to pay for this workshop deposit.
- Balance: $240 dollars due January 21, 2019
- Cancellation policy: There is no refund because of the amount of work that needs to be done and ceremonies before we even start our workshop.
- Cost Part #3
- Other costs: These costs are on your side. Airfare, Nepali visa $25(15 days), other personal expenses.
Requisites
This retreat is only open to Advanced Students that have the Curanderismo initiation and “El Balanceo” practice (aka chakra exercise). Each possible candidate should submit an application to join us in this adventure.
Important note
Sometimes Shamanism, Curanderismo, and similar traditions are misunderstood. There are many branches and ways to practice. Our group does not use any hallucinogenic plants, brews, ceremonial tobaccos, alcohol, cannabis, etc. Please do not use these prior to or during our events. Failure to abide by this may cause you to be expelled from our events.

Instructor: Maestra Paloma Cervantes. She is a Mexican Shaman or Curandera born and raised in the tradition. She works full time as a Curandera since 1986. She has a strong spiritual background inherit from her family and teachers. She also has a strong scientific background that she acquired when she studied sciencias biologicas at the university. In her teachings, she combines the tradition of her ancestors with science. She writes and teaches about Shamanism, Curanderismo, Spiritual Herbalism and Ancient Healing Traditions. She offers private consultations too.
